The works of Sylvia Souffriau juxtapose a wide range of photographic images with sculpture.

Her pictures uncover the hidden communication of silence and metaphorically focus on the opening, a “listening glance”.

Her objects are constructed of found and commonly used objects, many have long exceeded their expiration dates and functions, yet they reveal a secret life, a subcutaneous trace of human nature.  No longer useful, they become poetic symbols with an evocative force.

All of her work serves as a witness to the magic of lost things, symbolizing vulnerability and our own solidarity with the fragile world. This then becomes the starting point for our journey, looking for clues to our own identities in the debris of the world, we ask ourselves the questions, what is essential in our lives?
